Join us for our spectacular 2024 performance of The Phantom of the Opera!
We would love to hear from young people who wish to perform in our productions, to follow in the footsteps of hundreds of cast members who have taken to the stage with us in the last ten years!
We are also keen to offer experience to anyone interested in technical theatre who would like to work alongside professional technicians involved in lighting and sound during our production week at Derby Theatre.

Annual membership subscriptions
- Our subscription for 2024 will be £140.
- Cast members receive a free DYMT t-shirt and a souvenir programme on opening night.
- The membership fee can be either paid in two instalments, each of £70, with the first payable at the first rehearsal and the second payable by 1st September.
- Alternatively, a one off payment of £120 (giving a discount of £20) can be paid but must be paid at the first rehearsal.
- We can accept payment by cheque, cash or a card payment with debit card or credit card. We can also offer direct bank transfer.
- In the event of a member of cast leaving the production, for whatever reason, no refund of fees paid will be given.
- The membership fees go a very small way towards the escalating costs of a production. It helps to pay for rehearsal room hire and insurance which we take out.
Rehearsals
Terms of Membership
- We take rehearsals very seriously and all cast members are expected to be on time for the start of any relevant rehearsal. We exercise the right to ask any cast member to leave the cast if he/ she is constantly late/ absent from rehearsals. Absences, etc., put a much greater strain on other cast members. When a cast member leaves the company no refund of fees will be made.
- A commitment to the production involves a commitment to all aspects of being a member of DYMT. This includes being present, if necessary, at the get-in and get-out of the production, promoting the show wherever possible, and helping with any fund raising activities the company takes on.
- We expect all members to act in a professional and respectful manner both at rehearsals and during production week at the Derby Theatre.
- Failure to pay the annual subscription in accordance with our policy above may require a cast member to be excluded from any further involvement in a production.
- By becoming a member of DYMT you accept to abide by the Terms of Membership and to uphold the good name of this company at all times.
- We reserve the right to terminate membership if the terms of this membership are not adhered to.
